Discount Ad Examples: 30 Meta Ads Brands Kept Running
Checked 25 Oct 2026 · 30 ads from 27 brands, from Meta's Ad Library · How we pick ads
Nearly every store in the feed is shouting a number, so a discount ad has one scroll to make a stranger believe its own. The offer is usually the biggest thing on the picture, and what separates these ads is the kind of offer: a percentage, a free extra, a bundle or a flat price. Even the shortest had run 202+ days when we checked.
- 202+days, the shortest run in the set
- 47%built as graphics with the offer as the headline
- 329days, the median run on this page
- 40%are fashion, the largest category in the set
Four layouts for putting the offer on the picture
Grouped by the job each ad does. Swipe a row, and tap “Why it works” for our breakdown.
Built as a graphic, offer as the headline · 14
Flat color, badges and type let the offer be as large as the product. PLUFFI Slippers hangs its percentage on an ornament, and Dippin' Daisy's Swimwear drops the photo and prints a price alone.
Photograph first, offer laid over it · 10
A catalog or studio photo stays whole and the deal sits on it as type or a panel. Halara gives the discount its own sidebar, and Parijan puts it above a stack of knits.
Product in use, offer stamped on · 3
The picture shows the product working and a banner or ribbon carries the offer. Piscifun uses a torn-edge strip across a reel in hand, and Move Shoot Move lets a galaxy photo sit above its sale ribbon.
Offer plus a reason to believe · 3
A spec row, trust icons or a customer quote stands next to the deal. Fringe Sport pairs "SAVE $119" with a five-star quote, and LIT Method sets three specs under its saving.

Choosing the one offer to print
- Pick one headline offerMuravai puts "BUY 1 GET 1 FREE" in the biggest type and lets the free kit sit on the other side of the frame.
- State what it coversAnaconda Fightwear's "ON ALL BRACES" and TPOB's "ALL ITEMS" tell the buyer how far the discount reaches.
- Print the condition nearbyLettoria puts "Complimentary With Any Leather Handbag Purchase" in the same frame as the free bag.
- Match the code to the dealGlowco pairs "EXTRA 30% OFF" with "CODE: BF30", and TPOB pairs 30% with "FLASH30", so the number is easy to remember.
- Keep the product in frameHalara shows its jeans front and back beside the discount column, so the sale never replaces the product.
- Test a second pictureBeautiful Earth Boutique ran one five-piece deal over a ring close-up and over an earring rail, changing the picture and keeping the offer.

What the offer actually says
A percentage. The default, and often a range: Piscifun, Halara, She Curve, Parijan and Anaconda Fightwear say "UP TO", while BedJet says "1/3 OFF" and Glowco says "EXTRA 30% OFF".
Something free. Naoki Matcha adds "incl. FREE $10 Gift Card" to a sampler, Fringe Sport adds "FREE KICKSTAND", and Lettoria adds a "$140 MYSTERY BAG" to any handbag.
A bundle. Beautiful Earth Boutique sells "ANY 5 PIECES", Boody pitches a "WIREFREE BUNDLE", and Muravai pairs "BUY 1 GET 1 FREE" with a free kit.
A flat price. Dippin' Daisy's Swimwear prints "$50 EACH" and TeeFury prints "STARTING AT $13", with no percentage on the picture.
A code. PLUFFI Slippers prints "CODE: FRIDAY", Glowco prints "CODE: BF30" and TPOB prints "USE CODE: FLASH30" on the image itself.
Rules for price claims
A former price must be real. The FTC's Guides Against Deceptive Pricing say a price you compare against should be one the product was genuinely sold at. That applies to any ad with a crossed-out price, which some ads here use.
Free comes with terms. The FTC's guide on the word "free" expects conditions to be stated clearly. Lettoria prints "Complimentary With Any Leather Handbag Purchase" on the picture, and Beauty From Bees prints a spend line under its free serum.
Buy one, get one has a price. The same guide says the regular price of the item you must buy should not be raised to pay for the free one, which matters to every buy-one-get-one ad.
The picture has to match the page. Meta's Advertising Standards cover misleading claims, so the offer printed on the picture should be the one the landing page honors.

Discount ad questions from media buyers
Can you give me some examples of promotional offers?
Yes: a percentage off, buy one get one free, a free gift, a multi-buy bundle, a flat price and a code all appear in this set. Muravai runs "BUY 1 GET 1 FREE", Naoki Matcha adds a free $10 gift card to a sampler, Beautiful Earth Boutique sells any 5 pieces at 70% off and TeeFury starts tees at $13.
Should a discount ad say "up to" or name one rate?
Either works, and the ads in this set split on it. Piscifun, Halara, She Curve, Parijan and Anaconda Fightwear print a range, while PLUFFI Slippers names 15%, Bamboo Cool names 20% and TPOB names 30%. Piscifun's range had run 702 days and PLUFFI's single rate had run 706.
Is a free gift a stronger offer than a percentage off?
This set cannot say which sells more, but both kinds kept running. The ads built on something free ran from Fringe Sport's 202 days to Muravai's 605, and Lettoria prints "Complimentary With Any Leather Handbag Purchase" so the condition sits next to the gift.
Do discount ads need a code on the picture?
No. Most of these ads carry no code on the picture. PLUFFI Slippers, Luna&Skin, Glowco and TPOB print one on the image, while Bamboo Cool and Move Shoot Move put theirs in the headline.
How big should the offer be on a discount ad?
Big enough to be the first thing read at thumbnail size: in most of these ads it is the largest type on the picture. Piscifun's "UP TO 50% OFF" fills a banner and Parijan's "70% OFF" crowns the frame, while Naoki Matcha and Fugazzi Fragrances keep a free gift or sample to a quiet line under the product name.
Make discount ads like these
Pick one offer, say what it covers and give it the biggest type on the picture, then build discount ads the same way for your client's website or your own.
How we pick ads. We search Meta's public Ad Library for ads from DTC brands that sell to US and UK shoppers, keep ads running 14 days or more, skip catalogue ads, and show at most 3 per brand. Days running is a spend signal: brands rarely keep paying for an ad that doesn't sell. Day counts are as of the check date above. Breakdowns are written by Gimme Gimme's ad analysis engine from each ad's image and copy, and edited by Josh Jackson, founder. Not affiliated with the brands shown; ads appear for commentary and analysis. To have an ad removed, email hello@getgimmegimme.com and we'll take it down within 7 days.
