Ingredient Ads: 28 Facebook & Instagram Examples That Ran
Checked 25 Oct 2026 · 28 ads from 23 brands, from Meta's Ad Library · How we pick ads
Nobody can taste a smoothie or smell a perfume through a phone, so these ads put the raw material in frame and let it stand in for the sensation. Half of them are staged studio sets with the copy doing the explaining, and 19 had run past 90 days when we checked. The real choice is where the ingredient gets named: on the picture, in the caption, on the pack, or nowhere.
- 527days, the longest run: Revive Superfoods' mango cup
- 123days, the median run on the page

Staged studio set, copy explains · 14
Otherland prints its notes under the candle name, and Vilhelm Parfumerie lets a basil sprig do the same job with a line of copy. The product is all that is for sale, so the staged material has to stand in for the smell or the taste.
Fresh ingredients, offer on top · 5
Revive Superfoods' strawberry and banana cup had run 377 days with fruit around it and a "50% OFF YOUR FIRST BOX" bar below, and Nuora stands a pouch of gummies beside a pineapple under "40% OFF SITEWIDE". The ingredient earns the look and the banner closes the sale.
Proof printed on the picture · 5
Revive Superfoods' mango cup, the longest run here, prints a "26g of PROTEIN" badge, and Maison Louis Marie sets a goop press quote over a bottle topped with a curl of peel. A picture of fruit or flowers cannot prove the product is good, so a buyer's voice or a number does it.
Ingredients in a real scene · 4
Kringle Candle Company sets citrus and thyme around a lit candle on a kitchen counter, and Matiere Premiere Parfums fills a wooden sieve with orange blossom. The ingredient sits where the product would be used or where it starts.

Let the raw material stand in for taste or scent
- Pick an ingredient buyers recognizeMango around Revive Superfoods' cup and orange blossom in Matiere Premiere Parfums' sieve are read at a glance, so the copy can stay short.
- Match every prop to a named noteCommodity Fragrances names marshmallow and mahogany wood in its body copy and then shows both beside the bottle.
- Decide where the name goesOtherland prints notes on the image, Vilhelm Parfumerie puts them in the caption, and Matiere Premiere Parfums trusts the picture alone.
- Add a short line that places itOtherland's "WARM & INVITING" and Clean Reserve's "Clean & Comforting" give the notes a mood before the buyer reads them.
- Put the offer or proof lastRevive Superfoods closes on a banner at the bottom of the frame, and Frozen Garden puts a review above the jar.
- Check the claim before the captionClevr Blends writes "support glowing skin" next to a strawberry, so the wording around the fruit is where the review should start.

Where the ingredient gets named
On the image. Otherland prints "SANDALWOOD • GOLDEN AMBER" and "WARM MUSK" under the candle name, and the staging matches them with amber stones and pale rock.
In the caption. Commodity Fragrances writes "fluffy Marshmallow, rich Mahogany Wood, and warm Tonka Bean" in its body copy, and Vilhelm Parfumerie lists the notes of Poets of Berlin the same way.
On the pack. The Republic of Tea tin and the FlavCity pouch print their botanicals and flavors on the front, so the photo only has to show the pack beside the real thing.
Nowhere. Matiere Premiere Parfums' Radical Rose names no note at all. The bed of roses and the product name do the work.
Claims an ingredient can trigger
Taste and scent words. "creamy sandalwood" and "juicy strawberry" describe a sensation rather than a result.
Skin and body wording. Clevr Blends prints "Loaded with superfoods to support glowing skin and hormonal balance" and The Republic of Tea prints "collagen-promoting blue butterfly pea flower" with an asterisk. Meta's ad standards limit claims about personal health and appearance, and the FTC expects evidence behind health claims for foods and supplements.
Environmental wording. JadeYoga writes "plastic-free mat" and names its material. The FTC's Green Guides cover claims of this kind, such as "free of" and recycled-content wording.

Ingredient ad questions, from scent notes to skin claims
Which products suit an ingredient ad?
Products a buyer cannot taste or smell on a screen: fragrance, candles, smoothies, matcha and tea. In this set, beauty and fragrance is the biggest category, and the food and drink brands include Revive Superfoods, Clevr Blends and Daily Harvest.
Should the ingredient be named in the image or the caption?
Either works, and the ads split. Otherland prints its notes on the image, Commodity Fragrances and Vilhelm Parfumerie list them in the body copy, and Matiere Premiere Parfums names none and lets the roses show it.
Do ingredient ads need an offer?
No. Matiere Premiere Parfums' Neroli Oranger had run 207 days with no price or offer in it, while Revive Superfoods' offer ads had run 527 and 377 days. Matiere Premiere Parfums' Radical Rose ran 179 days without one either.
What can an ingredient ad say about health?
Describe the ingredient and what the product contains, and avoid promising a result. Clevr Blends writes "support glowing skin" and Meta's ad standards limit what ads can claim about personal health, so the wording matters as much as the picture.
Can ingredient ads work outside food and scent?
Yes, when the material is the story. JadeYoga leads with "We turned mushroom waste into your mat." and Sarah Flint lays out a row of footbeds under "What's under your heel matters."
Make ingredient ads like these
Ingredient ads let the picture stand in for taste and smell, so add your client's website or your own and Gimme Gimme will design ads that put the raw materials in frame.
How we pick ads. We search Meta's public Ad Library for ads from DTC brands that sell to US and UK shoppers, keep ads running 14 days or more, skip catalogue ads, and show at most 3 per brand. Days running is a spend signal: brands rarely keep paying for an ad that doesn't sell. Day counts are as of the check date above. Breakdowns are written by Gimme Gimme's ad analysis engine from each ad's image and copy, and edited by Josh Jackson, founder. Not affiliated with the brands shown; ads appear for commentary and analysis. To have an ad removed, email hello@getgimmegimme.com and we'll take it down within 7 days.
