22 Free Gift Ad Examples Brands Kept Running on Meta
Checked 25 Oct 2026 · 22 ads from 15 brands, from Meta's Ad Library · How we pick ads
Free gift ads have to turn "free" into something a buyer can picture, price and qualify for inside one scroll, without the gift outshining the product it is meant to sell. Across the 22 ads, the two longest runs, at 344 and 327 days, put a Black Friday sale in the picture and leave the gift to the copy, while ads built around the gift itself, like the Tower 28 Beauty mini pouch with its "$16 VALUE" sticker, show it and price it.
- 344+days, the longest run, a ring sale with the gift in the copy
- 50%of the ads are studio shots with the offer in type
- 10ads are beauty or body care
- 107days, the median run
How brands make "free" something you can hold

Studio frame, gift as a label · 11
Tower 28 Beauty prints a "$16 VALUE" sticker beside a pouch it shows in full, and Rare Beauty floats a circular inset of the free blush above its lineup. The gift is a label on a clean product shot, so it reads as a bonus and not a markdown.
Poster layouts, offer as headline · 4
Truly Beauty makes "FREE MYSTERY GIFT" the largest line on a hot-pink poster, and Lineage Provisions turns "GET A FREE JAR OF RAW HONEY" into the headline with a founder's name above it. The gift is the thing being sold, and the bottles and bars underneath are how you earn it.
Phone-shot frames, perks stacked · 4
Carpe films a gloved hand in a warehouse and lines up four perk pills, with "3 Free Gifts" beside a guarantee and free shipping. Dr. Squatch photographs its gift bundle on a table, so the free bag is in the frame and the bar below lists each piece.
Product proof, gift on the side · 3
Megelin shows a man under its red-light blanket and puts the free LED belt in the headline, while Lovevery carries a small yellow "Subscribe today for a free gift" sticker on a baby-photo strip. The picture proves the product, and the gift rides along as a headline or a sticker.

Picturing and pricing the gift so it survives one scroll
- Name the giftSay what it is, as Tower 28 Beauty does with its Mini Pouch, so the buyer can picture it and judge it.
- Put a value on itA sticker such as Tower 28 Beauty's "$16 VALUE" or Jot's "$30.00 FREE" tells the buyer what the gift is worth before they read a word of copy.
- State the catch on the pictureRare Beauty prints "with qualifying orders" under its offer, so the condition is visible before the click.
- Pick where the gift livesShow it in the picture when the gift is the whole offer, and keep it in the headline when a sale is what stops the scroll.
- Match the gift to the buyerA deluxe sample of a hero product, as Rare Beauty offers, previews the range, while a bag or pouch, as Dr. Squatch and Tower 28 Beauty use, gives the buyer something to carry.
- Test the gift wordingTruly Beauty ran a "FREE MYSTERY GIFT" picture and a "PLUS FREE $59 GIFT" picture under one body copy, so the gift wording is the main difference between them.

Pricing the gift
Name it, then tag it. Tower 28 Beauty calls its gift the Mini Pouch and puts a "$16 VALUE" sticker on it in both of its ads, in a flat lay and in a hand.
Put the price on the object. Jot sticks "$30.00 FREE" on the mug and "$4.00 FREE" on the bottle, so each free item carries its own number.
Or keep it a mystery. Truly Beauty's first ad says "FREE MYSTERY GIFT" and its second says "PLUS FREE $59 GIFT". Both ran 91 days, so the data does not pick one.
Price it in the copy. Megelin leaves the free LED belt out of the picture and prices it in the body as "($299 Value)".
Stating the catch
The rule. The FTC's guide on the word "free" says the conditions for getting the free item should be stated clearly and close to the word, that the regular price of the item you must buy should not be raised, and it limits how often and how long a free offer can repeat. Read the guide before you make a gift offer permanent.
Conditions on the picture. Rare Beauty prints "with qualifying orders", Tower 28 Beauty "on your first order" and Lineage Provisions "When Purchasing Any 2 Lineage Protein Bars".
Conditions in the body. Dr. Squatch writes "New customers only" in its body and Jot ends its picture with "Free Strawberry Vanilla with qualifying purchase."

Free gift ad questions, from the gift to the catch
Should the free gift go in the picture or in the copy?
Put it in the picture when the gift is the whole offer, and in the headline or body when a sale is the hook. Tower 28 Beauty and Rare Beauty picture the gift, while Marco Voletti and Megelin, the two longest runs in this set, keep it out of the picture and name it in the copy.
Should I name the free gift or call it a mystery?
Name it when you can, because a named gift can be pictured and given a value. Both approaches ran in this set: Truly Beauty's "FREE MYSTERY GIFT" ad and its "PLUS FREE $59 GIFT" ad each ran 91 days, and Carpe's unnamed "3 Free Gifts" ran 142.
Does a free gift ad need a discount next to it?
No, the gift can be the whole offer. Tower 28 Beauty, Rare Beauty and Lineage Provisions run the gift alone, while Marco Voletti, Megelin, Dr. Squatch and Truly Beauty stack it on a percent off.
Should the gift go to new customers only or to every order?
Give it to new customers if it exists to win a first order, and to every order if it sweetens a sale. Tower 28 Beauty and Jot say "first order" and Dr. Squatch says "New customers only", while Marco Voletti and Flashback offer a gift "with every order".
Does a free gift offer need a deadline on the ad?
No. Tower 28 Beauty, Rare Beauty and Lineage Provisions state a condition and no clock, while Dr. Squatch, Megelin and Flashback pair the gift with a time limit in their copy.

How we pick ads. We search Meta's public Ad Library for ads from DTC brands that sell to US and UK shoppers, keep ads running 14 days or more, skip catalogue ads, and show at most 3 per brand. Days running is a spend signal: brands rarely keep paying for an ad that doesn't sell. Day counts are as of the check date above. Breakdowns are written by Gimme Gimme's ad analysis engine from each ad's image and copy, and edited by Josh Jackson, founder. Not affiliated with the brands shown; ads appear for commentary and analysis. To have an ad removed, email hello@getgimmegimme.com and we'll take it down within 7 days.
