30 Flat Lay Ad Examples Brands Kept Running on Meta

Checked 25 Oct 2026 · 30 ads from 29 brands, from Meta's Ad Library · How we pick ads

One frame holds a whole set, but a flat lay can't show size, wear or a reason to buy, so the picture alone is easy to scroll past. In these 30 Meta ads, 43% are studio sets where the product leads, 20% print proof on the picture and 13% lay an offer banner across it. The longest run, Fugazzi Fragrances at 490 days, is a flat lay with a refund-code banner over it.

Studio set, product leads · 13

A plain or styled backdrop leaves the product as the message, which suits things bought on look: Otiumberg's gold hoops on deep green, Loeffler Randall's cream sandal in two angles. The cost is that the frame says nothing about size or why now, so most of these lean on a headline or the copy beside the picture.

“Take Your Cookware Collection To The Next Level”

Why it works

Skillets, dutch ovens, a spatula, leather potholders and a wooden trivet sit in a loose ring on a marble tabletop, with no text on the picture beyond the engraving on the cookware. A top-down view lets the eye read the whole range and its relative sizes at once. The headline and body then sell the accessories, so the image stays pure product and the words say what to add. Cookware alone fills the frame, and the words carry the upsell.

Loopy Cases Meta ad: a checkered phone case and matching pouch on a split olive and tan backdrop, Cocoa Checkered, ran 363+ days
Loopy CasesRan 363+ days
Flat lay ads

“The perfect fall case”

Why it works

A phone case lies across a split backdrop, olive-gray on the left and tan on the right, with a matching drawstring pouch beside it. The two-tone ground makes the checkered pattern the only busy thing in the frame. The body adds customer lines, the first of which reads "The perfect fall case", so the picture shows the product while the words supply the reviews. Reviews live in the copy and the product lives in the frame.

SCOTTeVESTRan 249+ days
Flat lay ads

“CARRY-ON RESTRICTIONS? NEVER HEARD OF 'EM”

Why it works

A vest is laid flat and split down the middle: a gray schematic on the left maps what fits in each pocket as small icons, and a photograph on the right shows the open lining with a passport and a tablet inside. That split answers what a flat lay normally cannot, which is how much it holds. Scale comes from the passport and tablet tucked into the pocket.

Charlotte TilburyRan 165+ days
Flat lay ads

“PERFECTLY SIZED FOR YOUR HANDBAG, TRAVEL BAG OR CARRY-ON!”

Why it works

A tan leather pouch lies open on creamy silk with a compact, a cream jar, a foundation and a setting spray tucked inside. The pouch gives the miniatures their scale: they fit in it, so they fit in a bag. The line above says it outright, and the silk and gold caps keep the premium feel while the products shrink. Size is the selling point, and the picture shows it by containment.

Flat lay ads

“Peek at Next Week's Menu”

Why it works

Soup, a grain bowl and a strawberry sweet are shot from straight above on a white table, under a serif headline and a purple circle labeled "VIEW THE MENU". The top-down angle suits food because every dish shows at once, so the buyer sees variety, not one hero meal. The headline sells curiosity about next week, which suits a plan that changes its menu. Its purple circle turns the picture into a button.

Jimmy Fairly Meta ad: tortoiseshell sunglasses with green lenses seen from above on gray, The Wax, ran 114+ days
Jimmy FairlyRan 114+ days
Flat lay ads

“Designed in Paris.”

Why it works

One pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses with pale green lenses lies top-down and tall in the middle of a pale gray frame, throwing a long shadow tinted by the lenses. The brand name and the model name, "The Wax", sit small at either side. With so little text, lens color is the entire hook. Beyond that, the copy adds only that the line is for men and designed in Paris.

Wander BeautyRan 114+ days
Flat lay ads

“Build your own Bundle”

Why it works

Blushes, mascaras, compacts, tubes and a striped pink pouch tilt across a pale pink field, circling the brand name and a script headline in the middle. The scatter reads as abundance, and the pouch hints at what the bundle ends up in. The headline is also the offer, because the buyer picks the pieces and the picture has to show plenty to pick from. Every product is in one pink family, so a mixed scatter still looks like a single range.

Velvet CaviarRan 87+ days
Flat lay ads

“Widow's Web Crystal”

Why it works

A white card sits inside a spider-web border, and on it a knolled set shows a phone case, a wrist strap, a ring grip, a heart-shaped suction holder, a magnetic wallet and a card sleeve in matching navy. Knolled means each piece sits square and spaced, so each can be read alone. The design name is the only headline, and the body adds the seasonal angle of a limited Halloween capsule. Matching accessories are what a knolled set is made to show.

Flat lay ads

“Nap Time, by Ana Jarén”

Why it works

A blue puzzle box lies flat and centered on a field of colored candy sprinkles, with the artist's name and the title printed on the lid. The box art is a sleeping figure in a busy room, and the sprinkles echo its palette, so the background sets the mood before a word is read. The body supplies the format, a "500-piece" puzzle. The sprinkles are the idea.

OtiumbergRan 81+ days
Flat lay ads

“New Twist Hoops”

Why it works

Two gold double hoops lie on deep green paper, each throwing a hard curved shadow that echoes its shape. The brand name and "NEW IN" sit in the left margin in small type. Jewelry is small, and the green gives the gold contrast without props, while the shadow shows how the lower ring hangs from the upper. With a headline that only names the product, nothing competes with the metal.

Why it works

A black heart pendant on a dark chain loops across a blush ground beside a pair of gold hoops with heart charms, under a bold logo in the top corner. Black beside gold shows two finishes in one frame, and the heart repeats across both pieces so they read as one gift. The headline does the occasion work and the picture does the product work. Its logo is the only extra in the frame.

“Find Your New Favorite PHLUR Scent”

Why it works

Bottles, rollers, a body oil, deodorant and a Sephora card lie in a loose overhead scatter on white, with spare paper tester strips between them. Frosted green, peach and amber glass is the color story, and the shared logo type keeps it one range. Scent cannot be shown, so the picture shows how many ways the range can be bought. Sephora's card tells the buyer where the range sits on a shelf.

“Pairs You'll Love Forever”

Why it works

One cream strappy sandal lies top-down and its mate lies on its side, so the cutout toe and the heel height both show in a single frame on pale gray. The logo sits quiet in the corner, and the headline and body bring in the bridal occasion. Shoes are judged on shape and heel, and two angles let the eye check both without a model or a walking shot. No model is needed to judge the shape.

Why it works

A long rosary with rose-red beads and a gold heart lies in loose loops on warm tan fabric, with gold-framed props cut off at the corners. There is no text on the picture. The sale sits in the body copy instead: "Christmas sale: 25% OFF faith essentials!" and a code. The props say gift and keepsake, and the copy says now. Sale in words, mood in the image.

Why it works

Folded wallets in tan and oxblood sit beside a row of leather swatches, each stamped with the maker's mark, on a light wooden bench with a strip of hide at the corner. The swatches show the color choices and the stamping shows the craft, so one frame covers variety and quality. Why it works

Boots are lined up top to bottom on dark planks, toes pointing right, each with its model name set in white at the edge. The overhead view lets the eye compare height, toe shape and sole stitching across the range, which is how people choose between near-identical boots. The body line claims the lowest sustainable markup. Labels do the job a salesperson would do at the shelf.

Why it works

Two daypacks, one white and one black, lie diagonally across gray granite, with a dark bar below naming the model beside a large brand mark. The rock gives the trail setting, and laying the packs flat shows the cord and pocket layout that a worn shot would hide behind a body. The line "A NEW WAY TO START THE DAY" sets the use. Rock supplies the trail and the bar supplies the name.

Why it works

The camera looks straight down at a round marble table where several hands work on a nearly finished puzzle with loose pieces all around. “The best super thin case we've found.”

Why it works

Phone cases in white, orange, green, navy and black enter from the edges of a white frame, which leaves the middle empty for a large Wirecutter quote. The cases are there to show thinness and the color range; the quote carries the authority. A phone case is a commodity until an outside voice ranks it, and a close-up cannot do that. Why it works

Footwear is bought on feel, which a flat lay cannot show, so a block of press logos fills the bottom of the frame. The long body copy adds a named customer review. Press names stand in for the comfort test the picture can't run.

“NFL RETRO LOGO TEES”

Why it works

Folded tees in team colors are set in staggered rows under a hand-lettered red headline and a round licensing mark. Folding turns each shirt into a square tile, so a league's worth of logos fits in a tall frame and each design stays readable. The body makes the range claim, "all 32 NFL Teams", and the badge answers whether the shirts are official. A fan needs to spot only one team, and the grid gives plenty of chances.

Arranging the frame so it carries the sale

  1. Pick a set, not a lone itemA flat lay earns its space when the pitch is a range, a bundle or a kit, as with Smithey Ironware Company's ring of cookware or Charlotte Tilbury's pouch of minis.
  2. Choose a surface that explainsMarble, stone, grass and dark wood tell the buyer who the product is for before any text does, as Vessi's grass and L*Space by Monica Wise's stone steps show.
  3. Add one cue for scale or usePut a flower, a cup, a hand or a pouch beside the product so size is clear without a ruler, the way Fugazzi Fragrances and NuGo Nutrition Bars do.
  4. Print the one proof that fitsChoose a press logo, a badge or a guarantee you can back up, and set it where the eye finishes, as Koio does along the bottom edge.
  5. Leave a clean band for the dealIf the angle is an offer, keep a band for it as Fugazzi Fragrances and ZanyLen do, so the banner never covers the product.
  6. Check it at thumb sizeShrink the picture to a phone-sized square and confirm each item in the set is still readable, as in Homage's grid of folded tees.

Sizes and Safe Zones are on our Instagram Safe Zone checker page.

Scale and use from above

Put something familiar beside it. Fugazzi Fragrances lays its sample vials next to a flower, and NuGo Nutrition Bars sets a glass of matcha drink beside the bar, so size comes from the neighbors, not from a ruler.

Let a hand in. JIGGY Puzzles shoots both of its ads from straight above with hands placing pieces, which turns a product picture into a picture of using it. HOVERAir puts a gloved hand under its drone in the ad that also lays the kit out below.

Label what looks alike. Thursday Boot Company prints a model name beside each boot in its lineup, and SCOTTeVEST draws the pockets beside a photo of the open lining with a passport and a tablet inside.

Show a second angle. Loeffler Randall lays one sandal top-down and the other on its side, so the toe cutouts and the heel height both show.

Rules for printed proof

Press logos and quotes. Koio prints a row of outlet logos under "As Seen In", and totallee sets a Wirecutter quote in the middle of its frame. The FTC's Endorsement Guides cover outside voices like these and say the words have to reflect the honest opinion of the person or outlet quoted.

Guarantees. GrooveLife prints a round badge naming its guarantee and repeats it in the headline text. The FTC's guarantee guides say an advertised guarantee should state what it covers and its main conditions, or say where to read them, so the landing page needs the terms the badge points to.

Certifications and licenses. NuGo's gluten-free mark and Homage's licensing badge name a third party, so the certificate or license behind each one has to be real and current when the ad runs.

Flat lay ad questions, from props to proof

What are some creative ideas for flat lay ads?

Start from the one thing a top-down shot can't show, then build the layout around it. Thursday Boot Company labels each boot so the range reads like a menu, Wander Beauty scatters products around a headline for its build-your-own offer, and Ordinary Habit lays a puzzle box on candy sprinkles so the background sets the mood.

What products suit a flat lay ad?

Products bought on look or as a set suit it best, and fashion is the biggest group here, followed by jewelry and accessories, then beauty and gifts. Hoops, sandals and sunglasses show well from above because shape and finish are the pitch. Food and a puzzle box also work when the arrangement shows variety or art.

Can a flat lay sell shoes or clothes that need to be worn?

Yes, but only if the ad adds what the picture can't show, such as proof, a second angle or a cue for the occasion. Koio prints a row of press logos under its sneakers, Vessi adds an "Actually Waterproof" pill over shoes lying on grass, and L*Space by Monica Wise lays a bridal bikini on stone steps with one line naming the occasion.

Should a flat lay ad have text on the image?

It can go either way, and many of these put almost no text on the picture and sell in the headline and body instead. Movado and Loeffler Randall show only a logo, and Smithey Ironware Company's picture is cookware alone, while GrooveLife, Homage and Wicked Clothes set headlines in the frame. Fugazzi Fragrances, the longest run, uses a banner.

How many products belong in a flat lay ad?

As many as the pitch needs: one hero item for a launch, a full set when the set is the offer. Otiumberg shows a single pair of hoops under "NEW IN", while Homage's grid backs "all 32 NFL Teams". A crowded frame works when each item stays readable, which is why Homage folds its tees into tiles and Velvet Caviar spaces its accessories on a white card.

Make flat lay ads like these

Drop in your client's website or your own, and Gimme Gimme designs on-brand static ads, so you can test a flat lay carrying its proof or offer against other layouts.

How we pick ads. We search Meta's public Ad Library for ads from DTC brands that sell to US and UK shoppers, keep ads running 14 days or more, skip catalogue ads, and show at most 3 per brand. Days running is a spend signal: brands rarely keep paying for an ad that doesn't sell. Day counts are as of the check date above. Breakdowns are written by Gimme Gimme's ad analysis engine from each ad's image and copy, and edited by Josh Jackson, founder. Not affiliated with the brands shown; ads appear for commentary and analysis. To have an ad removed, email hello@getgimmegimme.com and we'll take it down within 7 days.
